Atanas Mihov

(1879 - 1975) Born on 24th September 1879 in Stara Zagora. In 1904 graduated from the School of Arts, art of painting, the class of Yaroslav Veshin. Fellow of Modern Art Society, fellow-founder of the Society of the North Bulgarian Artists.

From 1906 to 1932 he has been painting master in Silistra, Razgrad, Ruse, and Sofia. In 1932 he retired and devoted to creative work. Since 1904 Mihov took part in exhibitions of Modern Art Society, the Union of the South Slavonic Artists Lada, society Home Arts, Society of the North Bulgarian Artists, general art exhibition. He had organized a number of individual exhibitions in the country and abroad. Atanas Mihov participated in the First World War and painted works of military subject-matter. He is one of the founders of the realistic landscape art of painting, who recreated in his canvas the beauty of the Bulgarian nature.
